Why did humans willingly mate with Neanderthals when they were such dumb, brutish, and ugly creatures?

 Well, dumb is a strong word, but they weren’t as smart as humans there is no question about this. Bigger brains doesn’t always equal more intelligence. They never advanced very much at all compared to humans and never had any kind of throwing weapons. Broken bones were common place with Neanderthals. Which means they were too close to the prey that they were trying to kill because they haven’t advanced in their weapons to kill at a distance. After many centuries of this one would think the weapons would advance with them. The truth is neither the Neanderthal or the weapons ever advanced very much. This is one of a few reasons why we know they were less intelligent. Though I have no information on this I believe that intercourse between humans and Neanderthal wasn't always consensual. I do believe some had to have been.
