Sin - Heinrich Lossow (1880)
This painting depicts an event that actually happened and documented in a journal written in Latin (called Liber Notarum) by an apostolic protonotary named Johann Burchard. On Sunday, October 30, 1501, Cardinal Cesare Borgia organizes a dinner in the Papal Palace that bears the name of "Feast of Chestnuts". During this feast there were 5 prostitutes who "entertained" the guests.
