The most gruesome death in history was inflicted upon Banda Singh Bahadur, the tenth and last Sikh guru.

Captured by the Mughals in the Punjab fortress, he had already conquered a significant territory. The Mughals captured him, took him to Delhi, and murdered him in a horrific manner. His sons, aged five or six, were slaughtered before his eyes, and their flesh was forced into his mouth.

His eyes were gouged out with a sword. One of his legs was severed. His arms were broken one by one. His flesh was torn by the burns of red-hot pincers. Finally, his head was cut off. The Mughals thought this would sow terror among the people and prevent any rebellion. But Banda Singh demonstrated to the people the strength of the human will.
