In the wonderful world of gender duality, the deliberate exposure of legs and cleavage in women is similar to the deliberate exposure of muscles in arms and chest in men.
The legs and arms are dual to each other, of course, but women and men meet each other in the breast area — albeit under a fat-muscle duality. The power of female cleavage lies in forms and fat, whereas the beauty in male cleavage (according to some beholders) is based on muscle and form.
Exposure is the key in both.
What strikes me the most though is that some men really want to show-off their muscled arms — while simultaneously showing off their many tattoos with spelling mistakes — even when it’s very cold outside (which makes no sense to me at all). I guess it’s a tribal thing.
In the dual setting — and now we are becoming even more biological — some women find it very important to expose their female qualities to the world, and also to their peers. Beauty can be a dangerous ingredient when female enemies and friends become competitors — even in an abstract sense.
I have about 400 students per semester, and among the more obviously beautiful female students, I often see time and again that short skirts (and cleavage) are the most powerful means to compete with each other, and to make statements beyond the sheer ability of words.
