I am performing surgery to remove/remove a patient's kidney.
The patient had several previous kidney surgeries and at that time the kidneys were simply a nest of disease – no longer functioning.
The patient asked me to remove/lift the kidney.
I removed the kidney laparoscopically and opened it up to see what was inside.
I found this:
I was very surprised.
It was a laser fiber cable that broke inside the patient during surgery by another surgeon 18 years ago. The cable remained and formed a stone, causing persistent infection.
After the surgery, I informed the patient of my discovery - he immediately knew which surgeon had caused it.
It is very sad that your kidney is damaged and your life is affected because of a bad surgeon who has no ethics.
He could have referred the patient to someone else to have the problem resolved before the damage became permanent.
